How We Inspect

Buying used gear online is easier when you know what happened before the photos went up. This is the short version of how we do it at Vintage Gear — the used and vintage side of Gear Music on Kerr Street in Oakville.

We are not a marketplace. What you see here came through the store, got handled by staff, and cleared the bar to go live. If it does not, it does not get listed.

What “inspected” means

Before something is published, staff look at playability, electronics, hardware, and finish. Real wear gets written down — not buried, not dressed up as “character” when it is just tired. Vintage pieces get more time: originality, obvious mods, and condition notes when they matter.

When we say ready to play, we mean we set it up here and would put it in someone’s hands at the counter. That line only appears when it is true. If it needs work, the listing should say so — or it should not be up.

Who is checking

Pricing

We price in CAD based on what is in front of us, not wishful comps. Ask questions. Call 905-339-3515 or email before you buy if you want a second look at a specific piece.

After you buy

Canada shipping and free local pickup are on the shipping page. If something arrives wrong relative to the listing, start with returns. Pickup orders can be checked in store before you walk out.
